Ingredients

  • 1/2 of a baguette about 12 slices
  • 12 slices of brie, cut about 1/2 inch thick, rind on or off
  • 1/2 of an apple, cut into 12 thin slices
  • 3 tablespoons toasted chopped walnuts
  • Cayenne pepper for sprinkling on top of the crostini, optional
  • Honey for drizzling and fresh thyme for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375° F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper if you have it. It's not necessary, but will make it easier to remove the crostini if the cheese melts onto the baking sheet.
  • Place the baguette slices on the baking sheet and top with a slice of brie. Bake for 6-8 minutes or until the brie is melted.
  • While the crostini bakes, slice the apple. Remove the crostini from the oven and top them with a slice of apple, a sprinkle of cayenne, chopped walnuts, thyme leaves, and then drizzle with honey. Serve immediately.
