Sauce
- 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons hoisin
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 2 teaspoons chili garlic sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 clove of garlic grated
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1 teaspoon of cornstarch combined with 2 teaspoon water to make a slurry
Stir Fry
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 2 green onions
- 1 clove of garlic
- 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
- 1 1/2 cups diced pineapple
In a small bowl or glass measuring cup, whisk together all of the ingredients for the sauce, except the cornstarch slurry. Set aside.
Add a little oil to a large skillet. Heat the skillet over medium-high heat then add in the ground beef and green onions. Use a spoon or spatula to crumble the beef. Season with a little salt and pepper and cook until the meat is browned. Add in the diced pineapple and sauté another 2 minutes.
Add the stir fry sauce to the beef and pineapple and stir everything together. Let it heat through until it's bubbling. Stir in the cornstarch slurry until you can no longer see it.
Continue to cook the stir fry until the sauce thickens, another 3-4 minutes. Garnish with extra green onions and sesame seeds then serve.
