For the Burgers
- 1 pound lean ground turkey
- 1/4 cup panko
- 1 egg
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 2 tablespoons BBQ sauce
- 1 teaspoon chipotle chile powder
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
For the Chipotle Slaw
- 2 cups coleslaw mix
- 1 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon chipotle chile powder, use more if you like it spicier
- 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Other Ingredients
- 4 buns
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- BBQ sauce
In a small bowl whisk together all of the dressing ingredients for the chipotle slaw. Pour the dressing over the coleslaw mix and toss until everything is coated. Cover and refrigerate for 15-30 minutes.
In a large bowl combine the panko, egg, garlic, BBQ sauce, chipotle chile powder, and salt. Add in the ground turkey and mix together gently with your hands until all of the meat is coated. Form the meat into 4 equal sized patties.
Heat a grill or grill pan over medium high heat and spray with cooking spray to keep the burgers from sticking. Grill the burgers for 3-4 minutes per side or until the juices run clear and they are no longer pink inside. 165° F.
If you are topping the burgers with cheese, add the cheese on about a minute before they are finished cooking. Toast the buns just before removing the burgers from the grill.
Place the burgers on the buns and top more BBQ sauce and the chipotle slaw.
