Asian Ground Turkey and Broccoli Cauliflower Rice Bowls are perfect for a quick and easy, stress-free dinner. Low-carb, gluten-free and can easily be made paleo with a couple adjustments.
Halfway through the week and a long weekend ahead. I am so excited! Our Labor Day weekend is packed full of fun plans and after the hours my husband has been working, having some fun is much needed.
Saturday we’re finally trying out El Five for dinner in Denver. We had reservations to go there a few weeks ago, but had to cancel thanks to my stupid foot. I was in so much pain I doubt I would have been able to walk from the car to our table without crying. Sunday afternoon we’re headed to our first Rockies game together. I haven’t been to one since I was a kid and my husband has never been to a game here in Denver. We figured it was about time to go to one.
Monday we have a big hike planned. Last Labor Day I hiked my first fourteener, Mt. Bierdstadt. They say it’s one of the easy fourteeners to hike, but I’d by no means call it was an easy hike. This year we considered doing one, but opted to do a hike I’ve been wanting to do for a long time, Herman’s Gulch.
The trail is in Dillon, Colorado about an hour from our house. It will be so nice to get out of the heat we’ve been having and into the mountains. The weather this past week feels as though we’ve gone back into summer mode instead of heading into fall. I don’t mind though, I’ll take as much summer as I can get!
Before we get the long weekend started it’s probably best to have one more healthy dinner planned. These Asian Ground Turkey and Broccoli Cauliflower Rice Bowls are just what you need before three days of barbecues and ice cream.
This dinner is all made in one skillet and takes only minutes to make. I opted to use cauliflower rice because I’m absolutely obsessed with it and it only takes a few minutes to cook unlike brown rice. I’ve been using the frozen cauliflower rice lately and am in love with how convenient and easy it is.
These Asian Ground Turkey and Broccoli Cauliflower Rice Bowls are low-carb, gluten-free and can easily be made Paleo with a couple adjustments. They’re perfect for a stress free dinner. Enjoy the long weekend friends!

Asian Ground Turkey and Broccoli Cauliflower Rice Bowls
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup coconut aminos or low sodium tamari
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 1/2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon grated garlic
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon Asian chile paste or sriracha
- Kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste
- 1 pound lean ground turkey I use 93/7%
- 1 1/2 cups broccoli florets
Cauliflower Rice
- 2 cups cauliflower rice
- 1/4 cup sliced green onion
- 1 teaspoon Asian chile paste or sriracha
- 1/2 teaspoon grated garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon grated ginger
- Kosher salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl whisk together the coconut amino or tamari, maple syrup, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, chile paste, salt and pepper. Set aside.
- Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and spray it with cooking oil.
- Add in the cauliflower rice, green onion, ginger, garlic and chile paste. Sautรฉ for about 5 minutes or until the cauliflower is tender, but not mushy. Remove from the skillet onto a plate.
- Add the ground turkey into the skillet and cook until it is no longer pink. Crumble it as it's cooking.
- Add in the broccoli and the sauce and stir together until everything is coated in the sauce. Cook another 2-4 minutes or until the sauce starts to thicken.
- Divide the cauliflower rice evenly into bowls and top with the ground turkey and broccoli mixture. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds, green onion and sriracha if desired.
Notes
- I prefer using sriracha in this dish, but note that it isn't a paleo ingredient. Stick to the Asian chile paste and coconut aminos if you want this meal to be paleo.
