All the flavors of guacamole and hummus are combined into one delicious and gluten-free dip in this Avocado Lime Hummus!
Got another ripe avocado you need to use? Make this creamy avocado ranch dressing recipe!
Who likes hummus? Who likes guacamole? If you answered yes to both then I have the perfect mash-up of these two flavors all combined into one delicious dip, Avocado Lime Hummus! It might sound a little strange, but it’s actually the perfect combination.
The flavors of guacamole are what you will first notice in the hummus. Avocado, lime juice, garlic, cumin, chili powder, and cilantro. Then because this is a mash-up quite literally there is a can of garbanzo beans and a little olive oil to give it that thick, creamy hummus quality. The beans also add a good amount of healthy protein making this dip perfect for snacking, spreading on a sandwich or wrap, or even dolloping on top of a burrito bowl like you would with guacamole.
The Avocado Lime Hummus is not only delicious, but a quick and easy appetizer to throw together at the last minute. All of the ingredients are added to a blender or food processor and puréed until smooth, or a little less if you like your hummus on the chunkier side. I chose not to use tahini in this hummus and less olive oil because that’s how I normally make my hummus, not to mention the avocado adds plenty of healthy fat, flavor, and richness.
This hummus is gluten free, vegetarian, and a perfect option to put out at a party. Serve the hummus with tortilla chips, pita chips, crackers, or veggies.
You can also use the hummus as a spread on sandwiches, wraps or burgers, or toss it in with pasta and turn it into a pasta sauce!
Cheers to this healthy, mash-up hummus that everyone can enjoy!

How long will this stay good in the fridge in an airtight container? Maybe 4-5 days? Not sure due to the avo.
Thanks for the fabulous recipe!
Hi Bonnie, the hummus should be good for eating for a few days, however the color will not look so appetizing the older it gets because of the avocado browning.
Wow! your photos are fantastic! I could just reach out and grab that hummus! What’s not to love about this combination!
Thanks Cynthia! :-)
Avocado and lime…..YES! This hummus looks and sounds perfect for summer and I’m obsessed with those Blue Diamond crackers. Every time I have a box in the house it’s so hard for me not to eat them all…haha.
Thanks Brandy! I can’t leave those crackers alone either, they’re addicting!
I love the flavors in this hummus, Danae! I was just telling a friend at work about it and she was like “oh, that sounds good!” Going to have to make this soon!

Thanks Shashi! If you love both guac and hummus, you’ll love this!
I’m obsessed with these crackers! They really are perfect for this healthy hummus!!
The Nut Thins are the best! I love all the seeds in them and really love that they don’t break when you’re scooping up the dip!
