Every party needs a good meatball and these Rosemary Turkey Meatballs with Cranberry Balsamic Sauce are sure to be a crowd pleaser this holiday season!
Holy cow, how is there less than two weeks until Christmas?! I’ve been trying to get in the Christmas mood, but it’s just not hitting me much this year. Except for a little dusting of snow last Thursday night, we really haven’t had any since October. It’s been dry and much warmer than I remember it being previous years. While I’m loving it for running, it’s not doing much for getting me in the holiday spirit.
I’m hoping that with all the baking I’m doing this weekend, that I’ll finally start feeling a little more festive. Between all the cookies baking I plan on sneaking another batch of these Rosemary Turkey Meatballs into the oven.
I made them a couple weeks ago and they’re so good that I can’t help but make some more. I created this recipe with the intention of it being an appetizer, but they also make a fantastic dinner. I recommend serving them on top of mashed potatoes or mashed cauliflower.
I always find myself loading my plate with the protein appetizers at a party. I’m the one hovering over the shrimp, meatballs and hoarding the bowl of mixed nuts. That’s not to say I don’t love chips and dip, but they just don’t suck me in the way a good meatball does.
Having a couple appetizers that are protein heavy like these Rosemary Turkey Meatballs with Cranberry Balsamic Sauce is always a good idea when you host a party. It will help you and your guests from overeating and getting carried away with carbs. It’s amazing how quickly the crackers and chips go down and the calories go up. I’d rather save my calories for the piece of dessert at the end of the night.
The rosemary turkey meatballs are a great all purpose meatball, it’s the cranberry balsamic sauce that gives them seasonal holiday flavor. The sauce is sweet from the cranberry sauce and honey and a little tangy from the balsamic vinegar. It’s nicely balanced and not overly sweet like some of those cocktail meatball sauces can be. Today I’m sharing the recipe over on Spoonful of Flavor. Head on over for all the details as well as some more meatballs appetizer ideas!

I forgot to mention that I made my own cranberry sauce using Splenda. My husband is diabetic. I would love to see the nutritional info on the recipes. Also Freestyle Smart Points for Weight Watchers.
I made this recipe today. Turned out great! I want to freeze them to serve Christmas Eve. Thanks for the recipe.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the meatballs Marilyn and thank you for trying them out! The meatballs freeze great, I actually like to keep a batch on hand for a quick dinner or appetizer.
